Airtel provides 3G with 8 Mbps Broadband speed in Kanpur

Its been around two weeks Airtel launched 3G in Kanpur, I activated it (3G services) on the first day and with weak signal manage to do a decent video call to BSNL 3G mobile, after a few days found network reception for 3G is now going better in some of the areas like Kidwai Nagar, Vijay Nagar and Kalyaanpur. Two days back have tried to used it on Micromax dongle and found a stunning broadband width of 5.5Mbps only having 2-3 dot signal strength which include download speed of
2.91Mbps and upload 2.14Mbps on 2G (GPRS) internet plan so no need to spend money on purchasing a 3G pack plan, its like a treat to us. We got a stunning max download speed of 691Kbps using IDM (Internet Download Manager) and upload speed of 345Kbps.

The best in all of it was, that you don't need to purchase a 3G Airtel plan to to enjoy such services so just have to activate or purchase any 2G (GPRS) pack.

The 3G services provided by Airtel yet using two network providers one is Vodafone and other is IDEA we have found the Vodafone 3G network provide much better speed as compared to IDEA so, if you are lucky one to have good 3G strength on your area just fasten your seat belts to take off with never before amazing internet speed.

Step by step procedure to activate GPRS and 3G services on any Airtel SIM card.

1. To activate 3G services on on SIM card, SMS 3G to 121 from any GPRS compatible mobile phone, then you need to reply it 1 when ask. Activating this services will cost you nothing.

2. If u never had activated GPRS on your GPRS compatible mobile phone, you need to do this now by calling on 121 and follow the instructions by the operator.
We press 2 then 4 then 1 to activate.

OR,

You can just dial  *567#  to get the GPRS menu and reply accordingly to activate, deactivate or to purchase GPRS 2Gb pack.

3. To use it on test mode you can purchase a 50Mb by dialing *222*5#   then  reply it with 1 when ask, will deduct Rs.5 from your main balance.

4. To download Airtel internet settings on your handsets type MO and SMS it to 52567. You can also call on 121 listen and follow the instructions by the operator. We press 2 then 4 then 3.

Guys this is simply a treat by Airtel use it as much as you can, because in my opinion services no longer will be available like this for long. I guess this is just a way to attract more customers.

Enjoy ... :-)
